NVSS works to impact areas in and around Gadag district in Karnataka by ensuring overall development and advancement of these areas. We attempt to make the rural and underprivileged population self-reliant by providing them with employment opportunities. NVSS tries to instil a sense of community among members where through interaction and activities people connect with each other. NVSS has formed libraries where children can read and has also conducted many creative activities to ensure children benefit from those. NVSS is committed to ensuring the overall welfare women, children and other underprivileged sections of rural areas. Many Self Help Groups have also been formed to promote the development of the society. NVSS has over 2000 beneficiaries who've actively benefitted from the computer and other skill training classes organised by the NGO
The rural population of India has the right to education and other necessities in order for the nation to progress a whole. Underpriviledged students also need to have access to the same facilities as that of urban children for them to be able to have a brighter and better future.
Nirmala endeavours to create awareness and equal opportunities for the underprivileged and marginalised sections of rural areas in Karnataka. Empowering women with informal economic opportunities and ensuring education and other necessary facilities for children is what Nirmala relentlessly works to achieve in the future.
Distribution of Grocery kits
The coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent lockdown has affected us in many ways, but it has affected the poor and the marginalized sections of the society the most. It has resulted in an economic crisis, resulting in loss of livelihoods of daily wage workers and migrant labourers. We distributed food items such as rice, cooking oil, sugar, tea powder, wheat flour etc to needy people at Mundargi Taluk, Gadag. More than 200 families have benefited from this activity.
Mental Health Awareness
We organized the Mental Health Awareness Program at Mundaragi. Mental illnesses affect 19% of the adult population, 46% of teenagers and 13% of children each year. A mental illness is a physical illness of the brain that causes disturbances in thinking, behaviour, energy or emotion that make it difficult to cope with the ordinary demands of life. More than 60 people attended the event.
World Environment Day
We distributed seeds and saplings as part of World Environment Day on 7-7-2019 at Mundaragi.
World Yoga Day
We celebrated World Yoga Day on 21.06.2019 where saplings were distributed and planted by school children.
Summer Camp on 2019
The Summer Camp was held at the K.G.S Government Primary School in collaboration with Department of Women and Child Development, Mundaragi, on 01-06-2019.
Fire Safety In School
With the collaboration of the fire department, we organized Fire Safe Programs at C.S Patil Schoo, Gadag-Betageri. The fire department spoke about the importance of fire safety in schools and about the jointly running program called SAFE for students which educate children about emergency procedures through these programs.
Summer Camp on 2018
A Summer Camp was held at the Government Primary School in collaboration with Department of Women and Child Development, Mundaragi, on 01.06.2018. Shri Ramanna Lamani, Shirahatti inaugurated the camp.
Karate Training Camp
Karate Training Camp was held on 23.12.2017 from 4.1. 2018 at Shri CS Patil Girls Senior Primary School, Gadag. The event was inaugurated by Mr Manoj Jain Deputy Commissioner, Gadag. Mr Veeranagouda Patil Honorary Secretaries, Student's Institute, Gadag and Sister Dorita, Minority Members were also present in this program.
To encourage the schooling of the dropouts
Nirmala promotes education and advocates for the right to education for every child. A campaign was organized with respect to sending the school dropouts back to school for them to be able to have a brighter future.
Children's Summer Camp concludes
We organized a Children's summer camp at Mundaragi. Mr Vedavasai Koulagi, president of the Child Development Academy, Dharwad was in charge of this program. He addressed a speech to students stating the importance of well-read children in society. Over 100 students participated in this activity.
Inauguration of Children’s Summer Camp on 2017
A children's summer camp was held at the V.G Limbikai Primary School in association with the Karnataka Bala Vikasa Academy, Mundaragi. Shri Ramakrishna Doddamani, Shirahatti MLAs and Parliamentary Secretary inaugurated the camp.
Child Friendly Library
Establishment and promotion of "Child-Friendly Library" held at Upgraded Government Primary School, Nagarahalli. We explained the importance of reading and sharing books with children. Books help develop early literacy skills, sparks a child’s imagination which stimulates curiosity and helps develop necessary social and communication skills.
Owner of Seven Hills Agarbatti Factory, Lokesha. P provides complete information on incense stick making machine to unemployed women. Nirmala Tarawade, president of Nirmala Vivedodeshagala Seva Samsthe wanted women to get trained at incense making in order to find employment.
Awareness of Women and Child Rights
From July 15 to 16, 2016, a two-day workshop was organized in collaboration with Bhubaneswari Service Organization and Central Labor Education Board, Bangalore. The workshop was organised to make women and children aware of their rights in an unorganized sector at Mundaragi.
Education Awareness Program and Basava Jayanti
On 9.5.2016, With the collaboration of Shree Sharana Basaveshwar Primary School, Budihal organized education awareness program and Basava Jayanti at Mundargi. Ms Anjana Sunakall was explained well about the importance of education, also spoke about Basavanna who was a philosopher, poet, Lingayat saint and grew up in Kudalasangama.
Celebration of Ambedkar Jayanti
A program organised to promote the welfare of children and the importance of education for them. Through many activities such as an interactive summer camp, children engaged in learning. The activity was held on Ambedkar Jayanthi at Shree Sharana Basaveshwar Primary School. Budihal village, Mundargi
World Environment Day Program
Our organization stepped into this beautiful program to develop a green environment in the Government Industrial Training Institute Mundargi and many guests were present at the occasion. Over 60 students actively participated in this particular program.
Nirmala G. Taravade
Nirmala G. Taravade being the president of the organization holds a BFA graduate degree. She has interests in matters of cultural studies and she is a designated NCC cadet. She has also been a part of many significant workshops in and around the district of Gadag.
Basavaraj D. Jadhava
Basavaraj D. Jadhava is the Vice President of the organisation. A farmer by profession he works towards creating awareness among them and helping out them with new technologies.
Basavaraj G. Nelajeri
Basavaraj G. Nelajeri is a member of the trust. He is in charge of the cultural aspects of the NGO such as folk art, singing, dancing and theatrical arts. He even indulges in carrying forward these activities through his student clan.
Manjunatha S. Pattanshetty
Manjunatha S. Pattanshetty is the treasurer of the trust. He is a BA graduate and is interested in sports and other cultural activities.
