About Us

Nirmala Vivedodeshagala Seva Samsthe

Women empowerment, Childcare and upliftment of rural areas in Karnataka.

NVSS works to impact areas in and around Gadag district in Karnataka by ensuring overall development and advancement of these areas. We attempt to make the rural and underprivileged population self-reliant by providing them with employment opportunities. NVSS tries to instil a sense of community among members where through interaction and activities people connect with each other. NVSS has formed libraries where children can read and has also conducted many creative activities to ensure children benefit from those. NVSS is committed to ensuring the overall welfare women, children and other underprivileged sections of rural areas. Many Self Help Groups have also been formed to promote the development of the society. NVSS has over 2000 beneficiaries who've actively benefitted from the computer and other skill training classes organised by the NGO

OUR VISION

The rural population of India has the right to education and other necessities in order for the nation to progress a whole. Underpriviledged students also need to have access to the same facilities as that of urban children for them to be able to have a brighter and better future.

OUR MISSION

Nirmala endeavours to create awareness and equal opportunities for the underprivileged and marginalised sections of rural areas in Karnataka. Empowering women with informal economic opportunities and ensuring education and other necessary facilities for children is what Nirmala relentlessly works to achieve in the future.




Our Programs

Green campus program

Green campus program enables schools to conserve natural resources like water and biodiversity, optimize energy efficiency, manage waste and educate about climate change. We conducted this program with aim of helping schools become green. It has been developed for school buildings. With the increasing pollution levels, it is imperative to protect and educate our young generation. This program has been designed to reach out to teachers as well as students in making the school green at Nagarahalli village.

Awareness Campaign to Prevent School Dropout

Nirmala NGO team started to reach the community in order to address the issue of the school dropout from the grassroots level by identifying the root cause, and preventive and responding measures of the school dropout in Nagarahalli Village.

Citizenship Education Program

Citizenship Education Program for school students are designed to round out their education by adding the important element of Citizenship and Life Skills Education, and transform children into concerned, thinking and active citizens.

Distribution of Grocery kits

The coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent lockdown has affected us in many ways, but it has affected the poor and the marginalized sections of the society the most. It has resulted in an economic crisis, resulting in loss of livelihoods of daily wage workers and migrant labourers. We distributed food items such as rice, cooking oil, sugar, tea powder, wheat flour etc to needy people at Mundargi Taluk, Gadag. More than 200 families have benefited from this activity.

Mental Health Awareness

We organized the Mental Health Awareness Program at Mundaragi. Mental illnesses affect 19% of the adult population, 46% of teenagers and 13% of children each year. A mental illness is a physical illness of the brain that causes disturbances in thinking, behaviour, energy or emotion that make it difficult to cope with the ordinary demands of life. More than 60 people attended the event.

Fire Safety In School

With the collaboration of the fire department, we organized Fire Safe Programs at C.S Patil Schoo, Gadag-Betageri. The fire department spoke about the importance of fire safety in schools and about the jointly running program called SAFE for students which educate children about emergency procedures through these programs.

Karate Training Camp

Karate Training Camp was held on 23.12.2017 from 4.1. 2018 at Shri CS Patil Girls Senior Primary School, Gadag. The event was inaugurated by Mr Manoj Jain Deputy Commissioner, Gadag. Mr Veeranagouda Patil Honorary Secretaries, Student's Institute, Gadag and Sister Dorita, Minority Members were also present in this program.

To encourage the schooling of the dropouts

Children's Summer Camp concludes

We organized a Children's summer camp at Mundaragi. Mr Vedavasai Koulagi, president of the Child Development Academy, Dharwad was in charge of this program. He addressed a speech to students stating the importance of well-read children in society. Over 100 students participated in this activity.

Child Friendly Library

Establishment and promotion of "Child-Friendly Library" held at Upgraded Government Primary School, Nagarahalli. We explained the importance of reading and sharing books with children. Books help develop early literacy skills, sparks a child’s imagination which stimulates curiosity and helps develop necessary social and communication skills.
